Khosouthopa Early Learning Programme is a beautiful and neat ECD centre nested in the heart of Mopani East District, Limpopo. An ECD in a rural area, the centre boasts six practitioners, who have 98 years of experience between them. The least experienced practitioner has six years of experience, while the most experienced practitioner has over 25 years teaching young children.

The centre is inclusive, accommodating babies, toddlers and children who range from 6 months to five years. Khosouthopa prides itself for putting children first using the National Curriculum Framework to structure content, inform teaching strategies, and determine everyday classroom practices.

The school principal at Khosouthopa Early Learning Programme revealed that her biggest joy is seeing children demonstrate skills through indoor and outdoor activities aligned to the curriculum and lesson objectives.

Khosouthopa believes in providing children with a strong foundation using contextually relevant practices that prepare children to be globally responsive citizens. On July 18, during Mandela Day Celebrations, the learners were encouraged, through play, to look after the environment, and their community through age-appropriate activities.Mme Sekgobela’s passion for young children was highlighted when she shared

“My biggest goal is to see the kids I am teaching grow to take their place in life from the foundation I laid in their life.”
– Mme Sekgobela

With this level of dedication, we can safely say that the children at Khosouthopa are in good hands!
