Mission

To establish and nurture a national Early Childhood Development (ECD) Info Hub that serves as a dynamic, collaborative, and comprehensive platform for sharing knowledge, resources, and expertise in ECD across South Africa. The aim is to break down silos, foster collaboration, and create visibility for all ECD-related information sources. Through the Info Hub, the aspiration is to attract a diverse community with heterogeneous knowledge of ECD, facilitating creativity and collaboration in both physical and digital spaces.

Vision

To create a South Africa where every child has access to quality early childhood development opportunities, setting the foundation for a thriving and equitable society. We envision an ECD Info Hub that is the go-to resource, enabling cross-departmental and cross-organizational access to ECD information. The endeavor is to make a comprehensive knowledge and information source system available at everyone’s fingertips, fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and empowered ECD community.

Objectives

  • To foster collaboration and knowledge sharing among diverse stakeholders in the ECD sector, breaking down silos and promoting a sense of community and shared purpose.
  • To curate and maintain a comprehensive repository of ECD-related information, resources, and expertise, ensuring that it is easily accessible to all users.
  • To create visibility for all ECD-related information sources and initiatives in the country, ensuring that the ECD sector’s efforts are well-recognized and appreciated.

It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
